Description
McKissick Light Champion Snatch Block With Hook #418 is for hoisting, lifting, pulling, or dragging. It is often used on truck cranes and winches, and in the logging, mining, and construction industries. The top pin of the Snatch Block connects to Lifting Slings, Chain, Head Rings, Shackles, and other Rigging Hardware. A single line sheave can be used to change the direction of the pull to a favorable direction, while increasing the load on the block significantly compared to the lead line. When suspended, the theoretical mechanical advantage increases to equal the number of lines going to the Snatch Tailboard Block. For example, a double line pull can double your pulling power, excluding energy lost to friction. Reducing friction will get the real mechanical advantage closer to the theoretical, as with any pulley system.
